A brief explanation of a few of the common Aasans that are beneficial in
various ailments, is as follows.
MANDOOKASANA
Mandookasana is said to be the
raam baan i.e. the best pose and sure relief diabetes. Generally
diabetic people face unbearable hunger and thirst. They also find it
tough to accommodate with winters as well. This asana enables us to
keep away from such sufferings.The rhythmic breathing during Mandook
asaan gives wonderful exercise to failing pancreas, toning them up
to revitalize and produce insulin again. |

AKARNADHANURASANA
A wonderful asana to release
stiffness and tension of hip joints and making the legs supple and
strengthening the arms and shoulders. Besides toning up the entire
abdominal organs including pancreas, it is useful in treatment of
hydrocele and releasing tension from back and neck muscles.
This asana is specially prohibited for those suffering from
sciatica, dislocation of hip joint and people suffering from slipped
disc. |

MATSYENDRASANA
Is practiced with different
names Matsyendra, Ardh Matsyendra or even Quarter Matsyendra. It
massages the abdominal organs and regulates the secretion of
adrenaline and bile. It is also used for relief in cervical
spondolities, constipation, and colitis, menstrual and urinary
disorders under special observation.
Matsyendra asana simultaneously stretches the muscles on one side
of the back and abdomen while contracting the muscles on the other
side. This way it relieves lumbago and muscular spasms and checks
vertebrae to develop osteophytes.
People suffering from peptic ulcer, hyperthyroidism or hernia
should practice it under special observation and pregnant women
should avoid this Matsyendra asaan. |

ASHWATTHASANA
Ashwatth means Pipal tree and
pipal tree gives maximum oxygen hence ashwatthasaan is a wonderful
pose for the patients of asthma. |

SARVANGASANA
This asaan ensures ample blood
supply to lungs, heart and skull but it is restricted in heart
diseases and high blood pressure. Besides numerous other benefits,
it is a wonderful exercise for asthma patients as it purifies the
lungs and improves pranic power. |

SINGHASANA
This asaan purifies the throat
and lungs, hence is wonderful for asthma patients. It also prevents
bad smell, improves self confidence and strengthens the liver. |
